# The Solution

The SolarWise Own The Sun AG turns the abstract idea of "owning solar" into something concrete: **a single named owner for a single, physically installed solar panel inside a real, producing farm.**

#### How it works in four steps

1. **Sign up and verify.** Create an account and complete identity verification on the platform.
2. **Choose a panel.** Browse available Digital Twins, see the specific panel each one represents, and pick the one you want to own.
3. **Pay.** Complete the purchase. The Digital Twin is transferred to your account and you become the legal owner of that specific panel under Swiss law.
4. **Receive proceeds.** The farm sells the electricity produced by your panel to the grid. The proceeds arising from the sale of that energy are distributed to you monthly through the platform.

#### The core idea: one Digital Twin, one panel

Every solar panel on the platform has a Digital Twin. The Digital Twin is a verified, tamper-proof record of that specific panel: its location, its technical specifications, its production history, and its legal owner.

When someone buys a Digital Twin, they are not buying a share of a fund or a slice of a portfolio. They are buying full legal ownership of one specific solar panel, recognised under Swiss law.

{% hint style="success" %}
**Pre-financed before sale.** By the time any Digital Twin is offered to a buyer, the panel it represents already exists, is installed, and is connected to the grid. Buyers do not fund construction. They do not take on build risk. They take ownership of an asset that is already operational.
{% endhint %}

#### Proceeds flow back to the owner

The farm sells the electricity produced by each panel to the local grid. Since the holder of the Digital Twin is the legal owner of the corresponding physical panel, they are entitled to receive the proceeds arising from the sale of the solar energy generated by that panel, distributed monthly.

Proceeds move through the platform automatically. The owner does not have to chase, claim, or reconcile anything.

#### A real marketplace, not a closed product

Owners are not locked in. Anyone who owns a Digital Twin can list it for resale on the platform's peer-to-peer marketplace. Other verified users can browse listings, choose a specific panel, and buy it directly from the current owner. The platform handles the transfer, identity checks, and payment. The seller sets the price.

#### Built for everyone, not just specialists

The platform is designed so that buying and managing a Digital Twin feels closer to ordering something online than navigating a traditional investment product. Identity verification, payment, ownership tracking, and proceeds all run through a single web app.

People who already have rooftop solar at home can take part in a different way through the **Home Solar feature**, which is covered later in this document.

#### Swiss law as the legal anchor

The full ownership model, the contractual relationship between the buyer and the farm, and the regulatory posture of the platform are all anchored in Swiss law. This gives the structure clarity and credibility that other approaches struggle to match.
